Sailor Juno is a member of the Asteroid Senshi and one of the four guardians of Sailor Chibimoon. They perform a role similar to that of the Inner Senshi in relation to Sailor Moon, and Juno specifically is considered to be directly analogous to Sailor Jupiter. The Asteroid Senshi represent the largest planetoids in the asteroid belt: Juno, Ceres, Vesta, and Pallas. In the anime, Juno and her fellow Asteroid Senshi only appear in their pre-awakened forms as The Amazoness Quartet, corrupted by the villainous Dead Moon. In the manga, however, all four fully evolve into the Asteroid Senshi.

Construction Notes:
I had been interested in making Juno's senshi form ever since I made her JunJun version in 2009; when AkaneSatome was putting together an Asteroid Senshi group for Katsucon 2013 I jumped at the chance to join in. This was the fourth sailor fuku I'd made and this time around I was able to avoid a lot of the mistakes I'd made in the past and it came together pretty smoothly. Though we followed the manga art for reference, we decided to tweak the designs slightly to use the Eternal Senshi-style poofy sleeves and follow the anime's color scheme for the Amazoness Quartet. I specifically choose a brighter, deeper green casa that i felt looked nicer than the electric pea-green shade Juno has in some of the original art. I also picked a heavy not too shiny gold for the chest bow to avoid it looking too bling-y. I used my previous senshi costumes to pattern the bows and collar, both of which are backed with interfacing and attached with snaps. The skirt is a regular circle skirt arranged with 2" knife pleats and finished with a serged hem. The sleeves are Simplicity 4015's poofy sleeve pattern and their edges, as well as the edges of the gloves, are stuffed with quilting batting and top-stitched to create the raised shapes. I used emerald green wefts from Arda Wigs to revamp my JunJun wig I had made back in 2009. With several fixes the wig came out a lot closer to what I originally wanted, but it is still very heavy, so I'd like to remake the headpiece to be lighter. The tiaras were made for the group by AkaneSaotome and MizukiUsagi made all of our brooches.
